PDAs should submit monthly statements to consumers
PDAs should submit monthly statements to consumers reflecting collections and distribution details.
NDRC Practice NoteLast reviewed 2026-04
Every consumer under debt review is entitled to a monthly statement from the PDA showing the amount received, the distribution per creditor, and any fees deducted. This is not optional and the consumer does not have to ask for it each month.
Statements that arrive late or in a format the consumer cannot read defeat the purpose. We make sure clients know how to access their PDA portal and what to look for: total paid in, total distributed out, and the running balance per creditor account.
When a creditor disputes the consumer's payment history, the PDA statement is the first document we produce. It is also the document the NCR will request first if a complaint is opened against the PDA or the counsellor.
