Debt Review & Debt Review Removal Reports

NDRC publishes operational quarterly data to contribute structured insight into the functioning of the debt review system under the National Credit Act.

    What This Publication Is

NDRC publishes quarterly reports analysing operational outcomes within the debt review system — including debt counselling activity, creditor responses, court processes, and debt review removal pathways. Reports are compiled from anonymised operational data managed by the practice since 2020, aggregated in compliance with POPIA. They are not NCR publications, legal advice, or marketing material. They are structured for accessibility without compromising legal accuracy.

    Data Sources & Method

Reports draw on anonymised data from debt review and removal matters managed by The National Debt Review Center, including:

    • Debt review applications, restructuring proposals, and creditor responses
    • Court outcomes, clearance certificate issuances, and bureau processing
    • Removal pathways, including court-based and voluntary removals

Data is sourced from internal case management systems, financial assessment platforms, and court and credit bureau outcome tracking. Each report includes a methodology section, defined terms, data source disclosure, and clear labelling of inferred or intake-reported information.

This ensures consistency across quarters and protects interpretive integrity.

    Report Categories

    • Longitudinal dataset from 2020

    2. Quarterly Removal & System Friction Reports

    URL pattern: /reports/removal-qX-YYYY/

    • Removal pathway distribution and success rates
    • Court and credit bureau processing delays
    • Structural failure points in the removal process
    • Consumer reasons for exiting debt review

    How to Interpret the Data

    • Percentages reflect observed outcomes within the reporting cohort
    • Timeframes represent median durations, not guarantees
    • Where approximations are used, they are applied conservatively and disclosed
    • Comparisons between quarters should consider external factors such as court availability and creditor behaviour
