    What this means in practice

    Groceries are allowed at a reasonable per-person amount supported by bank or till-slip evidence. The figure must move in step with household size, not creep upward without justification.

    Where it goes wrong

    Restaurant and takeaway spend is not groceries. Credit providers reclassify it and reject the inflated figure.
