Rental, where no bond is in place, should be reasonable considering the consumer’s circumstances.

What this means in practice
Rent is permitted at the actual amount paid under a written lease. Where no lease exists, the figure is supported by three months of bank statements showing the payment to the landlord.
Where it goes wrong
Above-market rent without supporting lease documents gets reduced by credit providers. A short written lease, even informal, prevents that reduction.
