    Gross pay

Gross pay is the total of all pay plus the total of employer benefits. Weekly wages are to be converted to a monthly income figure for calculation purposes (to submit a monthly income & expenditure statement).

    What this means in practice

Gross pay is taken from the payslip, not the bank deposit. The deposit reflects net pay after deductions and using it as gross under-states income, which produces an affordability figure that creditors will reject on inspection.
