What documents are needed for debt review removal?

The documents required depend on which removal route applies.

Required from you for all applications:

    • Certified copy of your South African ID document.

    • Recent payslips or proof of income, within the last 3 months.

    • 3 months bank statements for all accounts.

    • Proof of residential address, not older than 3 months.

    • Completed NDRC application form.

    • If married in community of property: marriage certificate and your spouse must apply jointly.

    • If married out of community of property with accrual: antenuptial contract.

From your previous debt counsellor (NDRC collects these on your behalf if you cannot obtain them):

    • Form 17.1: notification of debt review application.

    • Form 17.2: certificate of balance and acceptance of debt review.

    • Debt restructuring proposal submitted to creditors.

    • Form 17.W: withdrawal notice, if applicable.

    • Court order or NCT consent order, if granted.

    • Full legal pack, if available.

From credit providers (NDRC obtains these for court applications):

    • Current outstanding balances on all accounts under debt review.

    • Paid-up letters for any settled accounts.

    • Account statements for the last 3 to 6 months where required.

If your previous debt counsellor is unregistered, deceased, deregistered, or refuses to provide documents, NDRC has established processes to obtain or reconstruct the necessary documentation through the NCR and credit providers directly.
