What are the definitions of the NCR DHS Status Codes?

The NCR Debt Help System (DHS) records the debt review status of every consumer who has applied for debt review. Each status is recorded using a letter code. Your code determines which removal route applies to you.

    All NCR DHS status codes:

    • Status A: Application submitted. The debt counsellor has submitted the application to the NCR but the process has not progressed further.

    • Status B: Notification issued. The debt counsellor has notified all credit providers via Form 17.1. You are formally under debt review.

    • Status C: Over-indebted. The debt counsellor assessed your finances and confirmed over-indebtedness. The most common status for consumers under active debt review.

    • Status D1: Proposal submitted to the National Consumer Tribunal.

    • Status D4: Magistrate's Court order granted. A court issued a debt rearrangement order. This is the most restrictive status. Some magistrates refuse to rescind D4 orders, making removal more complex.

    • Status E: Clearance certificate pending. The process of issuing a clearance certificate has started but is not complete.

    • Status F1: Clearance certificate issued. All debts under debt review have been fully settled. Credit bureaus must remove the flag within 21 business days.

    • Status F2: Clearance certificate issued with home loan excluded. All debts except a current home loan have been settled. This qualifies under Section 71(1)(b) of the NCA.

    • Status G: Court order obtained confirming the consumer is no longer over-indebted. Debt review flag must be removed.

    • Status G1: No longer over-indebted, verified and confirmed by the NCR. The final step before credit bureaus update your profile.

    • Status H: Debt counsellor withdrew from providing services due to consumer non-cooperation. This status alone does not remove the debt review flag from credit bureaus.

Status C: a Section 87 court application is the primary removal route if you can show improved finances. Status D4: a Section 165 rescission application is typically required. Statuses G and G1 confirm the flag has been or is being removed.
