Choosing the right debt review removal provider is a significant financial decision. There are many fraudulent operators in this space. Here is what to look for and how to verify it.
A credible debt review removal provider must have:
• NCR registration: only NCR-registered debt counsellors are legally authorised to manage the debt review removal process, update the DHS, and issue clearance certificates. Verify registration at ncr.org.za. NDRC's registration number is NCRDC3106.
• Admitted attorney partners: the legal drafting and court attendance for Section 87 and 165 applications must be performed by an admitted attorney. If a company does not involve an admitted attorney, their court applications are not legally valid.
• Transparent fees disclosed upfront: under Section 126A(3) of the NCA, no fee may be collected before the corresponding service is performed. Any company asking for large upfront payments is violating the NCA.
• Verifiable reviews: check Google Reviews, HelloPeter, and Facebook. Look for specific, named reviews from real clients. NDRC has 240 or more verified Google reviews at 4.9 stars.
• Physical address and traceable contact details: NDRC is at 36 Mangold Street, Newton Park, Gqeberha. Company Reg: 2014/286439/07.
• Honest eligibility assessment: a credible provider tells you honestly if you do not qualify, rather than taking your money regardless.
Red flags indicating a scam:
• Promises of instant removal, removal in 7 days, or removal while still under debt review.
• WhatsApp or Facebook as the only contact channel.
• Large upfront payments required before any work begins.
• No mention of NCR registration or attorney involvement.
• Fees of R10,000 or more collected before any service is rendered.
NDRC has been operating since 2014, is fully NCR-registered, and works with admitted attorney partners for all court applications. Our fees are disclosed in a written Prescribed Disclosure Statement before any work begins. Start with a free assessment at ndrc.org.za or call 041 012 5036.
