How much does debt counselling cost in South Africa?

Debt counselling costs are regulated by the NCR. There are no hidden fees and no upfront charges beyond what the regulations allow.

    • Application fee: R50 (once-off) VAT exclusive

    • Administration fee: R300 (once-off) VAT exclusive

    • Restructuring fee: Up to R8,000 for single applicant, R9,000 if married in community of property (spread over 12-24 months)

    • After-care fee: Maximum R450 per month VAT exclusive

    • NCT submission fee: R500.00 (excl. VAT) — our service fee for preparing and lodging the NCT application

    • NCT filing fee: R717.79 per application (1 April 2026 – 31 March 2027, per Government Gazette No 42337) — paid to the Tribunal for consent orders

Your initial assessment is free, obligation-free, and used to confirm affordability and eligibility.
